Consent to the use of cookies

To ensure that our website functions properly, we use cookies. To obtain your valid consent for the use and storage of cookies in the browser you use to access our website and to document this properly, we use a consent management platform: CookieFirst. This technology is provided by Digital Data Solutions BV, Plantage Middenlaan 42a, 1018 DH, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Website: https://cookiefirst.com referred to as CookieFirst.

When you access our website, a connection is established with the CookieFirst server so that we can obtain your valid consent for the use of certain cookies. CookieFirst then stores a cookie in your browser in order to activate only the cookies to which you have consented and to document this properly. The processed data is stored for as long as the specified retention period applies or until you request the deletion of the data. Certain statutory retention periods may apply instead.

CookieFirst is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement with CookieFirst. This is a contract required under data protection law that ensures that the data of our website visitors is processed only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

How do we use Google Analytics?

Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider of the web analytics service is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses "cookies." These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device and enable an analysis of website usage. Information generated by means of cookies about your use of our website is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. The server is usually located in the USA.

The setting of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website and, if necessary, advertising.

IP anonymization

We use Google Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymization function. It ensures that Google truncates your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. There may be exceptional cases in which Google transfers the full IP address to a server in the USA and shortens it there. On our behalf, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

The setting of cookies by your web browser can be prevented. However, some functions of our website may be restricted as a result. You can also prevent the collection of data regarding your website usage, including your IP address and subsequent processing by Google. This is possible by downloading and installing the browser plugin accessible via link.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that will prevent the collection of your data during future visits to our website: Disable Google Analytics.

For details on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google's privacy policy.

Order processing

To fully comply with the legal data protection requirements, we have concluded an order processing agreement with Google.

Demographic characteristics with Google Analytics

Our website uses the "demographic characteristics" function of Google Analytics. It can be used to create reports that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. It is not possible to assign the data to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time. This is possible via the ad settings in your Google account or by generally prohibiting the collection of your data by Google Analytics, as explained in the point "Objection to data collection".

How do we use Matomo?

This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo.

With the help of Matomo, we’re able to collect and analyse data about the use of our website by website visitors. This allows us to find out, among other things, which pages were viewed and when as well as which region you come from. We also collect various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browsers and operating systems used) and can measure whether our website visitors perform certain actions (e.g. clicks, purchases, etc.). The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

IP anonymisation

We use IP anonymisation for the analysis with Matomo. Your IP address is shortened before being analysed so that it can no longer be clearly assigned to you.

Cookieless analysis

We have configured Matomo so that it doesn’t store cookies in your browser.

What social media profiles do we use?

We have social network profiles (listed below) in order to make contact with active users on these platforms. When accessing the relevant networks, the respective terms and conditions and privacy policies of the relevant operators apply. We only process the data of users if they contact us within the social networks, i.e. post on our profile pages or send us messages, for example.

Our social media profiles:

How do we use YouTube?

For integration and display of video content, our website uses plugins from YouTube. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When a page with an integrated YouTube plugin is called up, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells YouTube which of our pages you have accessed. YouTube can assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Details on the handling of user data can be found in the YouTube privacy policy.

How do we use Google Web Fonts?

Our website uses web fonts from Google. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

By using these web fonts, we can show you our website in the appropriate design, regardless of which fonts you use locally. This is done by retrieving the Google Web Fonts from a Google server in the USA and the associated transfer of your data to Google. This is your IP address and which of our pages you have visited. The use of Google Web Fonts is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in the optimal presentation and transmission of our website.

The company Google is certified for the us-European data protection agreement "Privacy Shield". This data protection agreement is intended to ensure compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

Details about Google Web Fonts can be found here and further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Why do we use Google reCAPTCHA?

On our website we use the function reCAPTCHA (provider: Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, 4, Ireland). This serves the purpose of protecting our contact form. Through reCAPTCHA, it can be distinguished whether the input in a form is made by a machine or by a human, so that there is protection against improper, automated processing.

To our knowledge, when reCAPTCHA is used, the referrer URL, the IP address, the behavior of the users of our website, as well as information about the operating system, browser and dwell time, cookies, display instructions, scripts or even the input behavior of the user in the area of the reCAPTCHA checkbox are transmitted to the provider. Your personal data (e.g. your IP address) will not be merged with other data of the provider, unless you have a Google account and are logged into it at that time. If you do not want this, please log out of your Google account before using our contact form.

You can find more information about reCAPTCHA and the Google privacy policy here.

The processing of your data (e.g. the IP address) is a legitimate interest for us according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

How and for what we use Google AdWords?

On our websites, we use the conversion tracking of Google (provider: Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, 4 Ireland), now part of Google Ads. If you have reached our website by clicking on an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will set a so-called cookie on your terminal device. These cookies have a validity period of 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain subpages of our online presence and the cookie is still valid, we and also Google can recognize that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to the subpage in question. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information obtained through conversion cookies is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. These customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a site tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, no information is transmitted that can be used to personally identify users. The legal basis for the use of Google AdWords is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

For more information about and handling of cookies, please read the relevant section in this privacy policy.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this, e.g. by means of browser settings that generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies or block cookies from the googleleadservices.com domain. You may not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not want any data collection. If you delete this or all cookies, you must set the opt-out cookie again.

How do we use HubSpot newsletter dispatch?

Our newsletter is also sent via HubSpot. The information below tells you about our newsletter, the registration, sending and analysis process, and also your right to unsubscribe. When you subscribe to our newsletter, you are simultaneously giving your consent to receive the newsletter and to the procedure described for the newsletter.

Newsletter content: The basic requirement for sending newsletters, emails and other electronic messages with promotional content (hereinafter referred to as “newsletters”) and also, for example, white papers, is the consent of the recipient and/or statutory permission (in particular section 7(3) UWG [Act against unfair competition]). If specific descriptions of individual newsletters are provided during the registration, this style is crucial for the newsletter subscriber’s consent. If no additional description is provided, our newsletters will include interesting information about our product range, offers and campaigns and also information about the company.

Double opt-in: The registration process for our newsletter is called double opt-in. This means that as soon as you have registered for the newsletter, you will receive an email from us in which we ask you to confirm your registration again. By doing this, we are ensuring that only people who actually have access to the email address provided can register for the newsletter. We log newsletter registrations, including saving the time of registration and confirmation and your IP address, as evidence that the registration process complies with the legal requirements. Changes to your data saved with the newsletter service provider will also be recorded in the log.

In accordance with information from the newsletter service provider, the latter uses the data in pseudonymised format without assignment to users in order to provide its services. The newsletter service provider is not permitted to use the newsletter recipient data for its own purposes or to pass it on to third parties.

Providing your email address is sufficient to register for the newsletter. Other data, such as first name and surname, company and telephone number, are optional and will only be used to address you personally in the newsletter.

All newsletters contain something called a web beacon. This is a pixel-sized file, which automatically accesses the HubSpot server when the newsletter is opened. This provides technical information, e.g. on the browser and system, your IP address and the time of access. This is used for technical service optimisation and is used with the aid of technical data or the target groups and your reading behaviour on the basis of access locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. The statistical survey also includes information about whether and when the newsletters are opened and which links are clicked. Assignment to individual newsletter recipients is therefore possible. However, it is neither our intention nor that of the service provider to use it to monitor individual users. We merely intend to find out the reading habits of our users and to tailor our content accordingly or to provide different content based on interests.

The consent of the recipients as per article 6(1) sentence 1 point a GDPR, article 49(1) sentence 1 point a GDPR, article 7 GDPR in conjunction with section 7(2)(3) UWG and/or on the basis of the statutory permission as per section 7(3) UWG is the basic requirement for sending our newsletter and measuring its success.

The newsletter registration process is logged on the basis of our legal interests as per article 6(1) sentence 1 point f GDPR, and at the same time this is also evidence of your consent to receive the newsletter. You are free to unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by revoking your consent. A corresponding unsubscribe link is provided at the end of every newsletter. Your personal data will be deleted automatically as soon as you have unsubscribed from the newsletter.
